Dauntless, Inc., the company behind KORONA, the self-described “number one point of sale software for multi-location retailers,” just partnered up with leading consumer cannabis resource Leafly so that marijuana dispensaries using Dauntless’ point-of-sales system to update menus will see their menus automatically update on Leafly’s site, which sees more than 16 million visits each month.
As a part of the Privateer Holdings portfolio, Leafly benefits from deep pockets and a well-connected leadership team. After Leafly removed its then-CEO Chris Jeffery in September 2018, some were left wondering which direction the company was headed. Now, it seems, Leafly is on track to becoming more of a cannabis tech company than a consumer-focused media play.
“Leafly has continued to partner with premiere POS systems to provide the best experience for customers and patients,” said Paul Barry, Chief Technology Officer at Leafly. “By integrating with Dauntless Retail through GIANT (Global Interoperable Application Network Technology), we’re able to minimize time spent updating systems and dispensary menus are always accurate.”
“Leafly has long been the trusted resource for legal cannabis strain information. Dauntless Inc. is excited to partner with Leafly to bring customers a seamless experience from strain research to in-store purchase and Leafly Pickup,” said Clark Musser, CEO of Dauntless Inc. “Retailers will love the ease of managing their online menu and pre-order fulfillment with near real-time inventory updates.”
As more cannabis retailers become multi-state operators, more and more will require enterprise-quality point-of-sales software systems. With this new partnership between Leafly and Dauntless, we’ll be watching to see if the two are able to steal market share from established cannabis point-of-sale leader Helix TCS Inc. (OTC:HLIX).
