American Depository Receipts or ADRs are U.S. exchange-traded certificates issued by a bank in the U.S. which equals a specified number of shares in a foreign company.

An example within marijuana-related stocks is Invictus MD Strategies. It’s shares are listed on the TSXV under the sybmol GENE, however ADRs for Invictus are traded on the OTC markets under the ticker IVITF.
