According to Amazon’s digital monitor Alexa, The Fresh Toast is rising to the top, as the site has now dropped below 10,000 on the list of most popular websites in the United States. As benchmarks, Pornhub is #16, and the Wall Street Journal is #161. This is no small achievement, as there are over 1.5 billion websites on the internet.
Cannaseur-focused platforms like Weedmaps, Leafly, and PRØHBTD all rank higher, but medically-focused content provider The Fresh Toast is one of youngest of the major marijuana media sites, having launched in 2016.
With women accounting for almost half of their readers and over 65% of their Facebook followers, The Fresh Toast‘s recent success highlights how underserved the millions of female cannabis consumers must have felt by the older existing platforms.
Also contributing to their win is the platform’s increasing syndication partnership success. Canadian media giant Postmedia Network Canada Corp. (TSX:PNC.A) has confirmed that The Fresh Toast is their #1 cannabis content partner, which speaks volumes. And, rather than getting distracted from their focus on content, Founder and Publisher JJ McKay told us that The Fresh Toast has “no plans to enter the overcrowded event space.”
While the company remains private, publicly-traded marijuana media company Leafbuyer Technologies Inc. (OTC:LBUY) trades at a public valuation north of $60 million. Although McKay says never, attractive valuations like that mean that maybe we’ll see The Fresh Toast hit the public markets some day.
